Composite Veneers & Porcelain Veneers

What are Veneers?

Dental veneers also known as porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates, custom-made, thin shells of tooth-colored material. These are designed to cover the front surface of the teeth, improving the appearance. The veneers are bonded to the front of the teeth.

Veneers in Birmingham can be the ideal solution to restore front teeth which are stained chipped or slightly crooked. Also recommended to fix any gaps between teeth where orthodontic braces may not be suitable, we can also replace and remake any veneers you may currently have that you are not happy with.

When it comes to designing the veneers we will do an accurate colour match and wax-ups to decide the perfect shape of your veneers so that a natural looking smile is created. We can change their colour, shape, size or length.

Before & Afters

We also offer Same Day Veneers in Birmingham

The patient has had endodontic treatment on the upper right central incisor, due to this treatment the tooth has turned grey as the nerves have been removed resulting in the tooth being dead. Our patient wasn’t happy with the colour and the way it looked. The patient travelled from London to have same-day veneers in Birmingham, done at the practice. The preparation, milling and fitting of the veneer were all done in less than 2 hours. Our patient is so happy with her result.

CEREC / 1 Visit Smiles

In today's world, few of us have the time to visit the dentist for multiple appointments in order to receive dental treatment. At the same time, sitting for hours in a dental chair is not ideal either. One solution to this is called CEREC, a state-of-the-art machine that can make permanent crowns, veneers or onlays for you while you are still in the chair. Here is how it works:

  1. The dentist will prepare your tooth using a small drill.

  2. A special camera is then used to take an image of your teeth which is then uploaded to the design unit.

  3. This image is uploaded to a CAD/CAM unit, which creates a 3D model of your new tooth.

  4. The model is used by a milling machine, which creates your new tooth from a block of high quality ceramic that best matches your surrounding teeth.

  5. The restoration is then fixed into place.

Life Benefits

  • Accurate restoration that strengthens and supports the remaining tooth structure.

  • Quick and convenient solution that means you don't need an extra visit to the practice, have to wear a temporary fitting for a few weeks or get anaesthesia twice!

  • A natural-looking restoration that blends in well with your surrounding teeth.

Before & Afters

White Fillings

For us, white fillings such as composites or glass ionomer cements, are a very good alternative to amalgam fillings because they restore the natural appearance of the tooth, making your teeth look like they’ve had no dental work done at all. They are also hard wearing and durable because as the white composite material bonds to the dentine, it restores most of its strength too. Composite fillings are made from powdered glass quartz, silica and other ceramic particles added to a resin base. They are ‘glued on’ and form a chemical bond with the tooth.

Glass ionomer cements also make strong and durable fillings as they form a chemical link with the tooth. When glass ionomer is coated with a resin, it can also withstand the high biting forces of the mouth. Glass ionomer also releases fluoride into the mouth over time, which can benefit your oral health.

If you already have metallic amalgam fillings in your teeth, another service we offer is to remove and replace them for you with white fillings, giving your smile a more natural appearance overall.
